What degree would be helpful for getting into film production?

I want to do something in production, not acting, but I dont want to do film studies becausevits considered a waster subject. Im doing a level history, classical civilisations, ICT and media studies, dropping Media at AS I think. Ill be doing work experience and things in the future, but what degrees would be useful to do things like camera, lighting or sound, directing etc. Thanks, and dont say dont do it because thats the point of not doing film studies, I want a degree that will get me a career but leave the production option open for me.
