How difficult is it to install a sky dish myself?

I need to place it on a garage according to the sky engineer so I will need a long pole and then the wiring needs to be trailed to the house and sealed underground. They want to charge me £200 plus VAT for this, when I feel that it is something I can do myself, but wonder how I know that I have aligned the dish correctly to get a good signal and what I could do about covering the wire?
